Hi there, My name is Karthika Krishna and I am a photographer, editor and website designer.
I have always been a documenter of people, memories and places. Truth be told, I never pursued photography as a profession. Life led me on a different path; it made me work amidst creative professionals, artists and movie magicians. I loved how ideas and concepts flowed into the everyday world but I wasn’t the person behind those ideas, I was only helping people bring their ideas to life.
So when I had the opportunity, I decided to pursue this lifelong dream of mine. I started photography and photo editing. I now focus mainly on product photography and editing photos for other creative professionals who don't have the time to edit their photographs.
I also help entrepreneurs turn their vision into reality by designing websites that reflect their products and attract the ideal customer. This image was taken in "Benaras,India". It was my firs venture into the world of digitally manipulated images. I was in Benaras for work and I went to the ghats in the evening and I saw these boats by the river.
The longing of love is expressed through the boats waiting to be taken out. In India, there are many folk songs around this theme of longing and they are juxtaposed with the boat being a conduit between lovers at either ends of the river bank.
The boats standing here are my expression of a girl waiting to meet her lover and hoping someone unties these boats and gets her across the bank
This image was taken in Srinagar, India. I love how serene and quaint this lake looks like. The valley has seen some of the most brutal times with terrorism and instability.
This image reminds me of one of my favorite holidays with my family.
